About the Eric Berendt Studio

In August of 1985, I started the Eric Berendt Studio, desiring to combine the graphic design skills I had been learning in my very last "real" job with my unusual background combination of avant garde painting, traditional drawing, and eight years selling wine at local, regional, and national levels.

In the portfolio section of this web site, you can see that I was never able to settle on a particular "specialty" in the business. Perhaps because I came to the field late and, therefore, took any job offered so that I wouldn't need to take a "day" job, I found myself doing all sorts of deign, illustration, and combinations of both.

Now, twenty-four years later and counting, I still find working in a number of styles and mediums satisfying; more rewarding and more interesting than confining myself to a narrow specialty. While this makes for a rather broad and chaotic portfolio, it allows me to combine my deep intellectual curiosity about our world, my knowledge and experience in art, business, graphic arts, and marketing and put them at the service of my clients and their projects.

Most of my clients have been small or medium sized companies. I have worked with divisions of some very large and well known firms including IBM, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, and Adobe Systems as well. I prefer to be a contributing member of a creative partnership, whether I am the creative lead, a specialist brought in for a specific part of the project, or something in the middle. My goal is to carry projects through to completion, with transparency among all team members, to the satisfaction of the client.
